Person-centred therapy
Person or client-centred therapy is based on the idea that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change, given the right conditions. Your counsellor will offer unconditional wamth, empathy, understanding and honesty to help you come to terms with any negative feelings and to change and develop in your own way.
Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
CBT aims to help you change the way you think (cognitive) and what you do (behaviour). Rather than looking at the past, it focuses on current problems and practical solutions to help you feel better now. It is based on the idea that the way we think about situations affects the way we feel and behave. If we view a situation negatively, we will experience negative feelings which can lead us to behave in an unhelpful way. Your counsellor will help you identify and challenge any negative thinking so you can deal with situations better and behave in a more positive way.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a type of complementary therapy in which guided relaxation is used to create a state of focused attention, during which positive suggestions and guided imagery are used. Clinical Hypnotherapy provides an effective method of understanding psychological issues and creates changes in behaviour patterns. It is highly effective in treating a number of psychological problems, such as, anxiety, stress, depression.
Rewind Therapy
The Rewind technique is a comfortable and effective treatment that can greatly reduce, and even remove, traumatic or phobic symptoms quickly through relaxation and guided imagery, all without even having to talk about the details of the traumatic incident(s) in question. The rewind technique originated from NLP and is also known as the visual/kinaesthetic dissociation technique.
